for the other class: keep working on stop animation when I get the time in between work, other classwork, physical therapy etc. etc. >.<

Tree of Life
There is a wall mounted spiral designed, organic inspired candle holder that is found in my living room. I like it for its dual purpose, to set an atmosphere and instill an emotional response form people. When the candles are lit, I get mesmerized by the flickering of the candles and become peaceful in one moment, anxious in the next. I’ll turn away from the piece and find myself glancing at it throughout the course of its use. The design is spiral brass with cone candle holders that are spaced evenly amongst the spirals. There are also leaves made of fiberglass sprouting in a few places among the spiral too. This adds to the biological and metal combination that reflects itself in the object. Even when not lit, this piece is still beautiful to me.

When art is reproduced mechanically endlessly, does it devalue the artwork being produced? We are bombarded everyday with visual advertisements, whether we see them or not. I think http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/ displayed it best when they visualized how much data is received through visual display and how much is actually remembered (not a lot apparently). So in my response, I think the mechanical reproduction of artwork is good for getting the word, or rather spreading the art, of those you may have not known about until the artist had passed away.
One of my most favorite flash sites to visit is Newgrounds.com. It has been around for many years and is a way for people to share their flash and digital art creations. I like trying the new games and reading the articles in the forums. Sometimes I just browse the art section to see the recent uploads. Another site I enjoy browsing is deviantart.com.
